How much activity do they need?

Be active

Children should be active throughout the day when possible replace sedentary behavior with activity.

Going out to play

Encourage preschoolers (3-5 years) to play actively and with structured movements. A good goal is 3 hours a day with various activities (light, moderate, and vigorous).

School-age children and youth (6-17 years) should aim to get at least 60 minutes a day of moderate to vigorous-intensity activity. They can divide the time into
Shorter sessions during the day.

Keep kids active at home and school. Support physical education,
Walkable communities and safe places to play. Your future health depends on it.

But, Get at least 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous aerobic exercise per week (or a combination of both) and preferably spread throughout the week.
