Dental Implants Cost in Turkey

Dental implant treatment is more common than you might think. The procedure is ideal if you damage or lose one or more teeth. In most cases, the premolar or molar tooth is replaced with dental implants.

Dental implants have recently become a standard dental treatment, with many dental clinics promoting the procedure as safe and effective. Getting a dental implant within just a few years gained massive popularity and is not perceived as a very expensive or radical dental surgery.

But, many people still need more information to undergo a tooth implant procedure. They often need to learn how a dental implant works or the difference between dentures and implants.

This article explains dental implant types, costs, and how it works for patients who never experienced a dental implant procedure.

What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a metal structure of titanium that resembles a screw and is placed instead of the missing tooth. The doctor will use either single or four metal posts if you need to replace a complete jaw set.

Dental implants are a root where dentists place a crown made of porcelain or zirconia. The tooth implant procedure is a safe dental treatment offering natural-looking teeth.

You need to maintain good oral hygiene practices to prolong the results of dental implants. With qualified and experienced dentists, the procedure has a higher satisfaction rate and will be permanent. And the dental implant materials will not affect the remaining teeth and will not cause harm.

It would be best to care for your implant like your natural teeth after your procedure. Also, ensuring a regular checkup with your dentist every six months is essential.

Your dentist will check your implant, abutment, and crown fittings and if there are any issues with their alignment in your follow-up visits.

How Does a Dental Implant Procedure Work?

A dental implant procedure usually has two stages. The dentist installs the metal posts into the jawbone in the first stage. This surgical stage is generally conducted under local anesthesia, although some patients request sedatives.

The dentist attaches a crown to the metal post structure in the second stage.

The duration between the first and second stage varies depending on the patient’s recovery and the type of crown. Some dental crowns require a few months to produce. And some patients might need a few months to recover from installing the metal structure.

However, some materials, such as CEREC, allow patients to get a dental implant in one day without a second visit. It is a standard procedure, especially if you want to save time.

If your jawbone is too thin or soft to be a foundation for the implant, you may need a bone graft procedure before your dental implants.

During bone grafting, the doctor will take bone from a donor area in your body, usually your chin or hip, then plant it in your jawbone. It is a standard procedure if you lack sufficient bones in your jaws. But it is only sometimes necessary for dental implants.

What’s The Difference Between Dentures vs. Implants

Dentures may be a good solution for people with many missing teeth and weakened jawbones, which may not be able to support a dental implant placed into it.

Also, dentures are cheaper, but it has a shorter lifespan than dental implants because dentures after some time they need to be remade or replaced.

Dental implant procedure results are long-lasting, stable, natural feeling, and natural looking. The downside is that they are more expensive than dentures, especially if you need more than one dental implant.

For that reason, many patients feel more comfortable traveling abroad to receive dental implants in Turkey; whether with the help of a medical tourism agency or solo planning, treatment overseas is affordable.

Are Dental Implants Painful?

The tooth implant procedure may be painful, but the dentist will use local anesthesia. And during your recovery, the doctor will prescribe medication to reduce the pain until it fades. In most cases, the pain is slight to mild, but if it stops your everyday activities, it is best to revisit your dentist.

Dental implants have other side effects like swelling, bleeding, infection, nerve damage, or implant failure.

Before the procedure, you must know all the dental implant risks and other pros and cons to feel safer and more comfortable.

The Types of Dental Implants

There are three common types of dental implants
